Who is behind MySir Equine Therapy?
In 2002 MySir Equine Therapy was initiated, in 2003 The Equine Academy was initiated and MassageClinic in 2005. All three initiatives made by Gitte Andersen Søby.
Gitte has been engaged to horses since the age of seven and she decided to take an education according to her hobby.
The horse therapist education was achieved in Sweden along with supplementing courses in England. Moreover Gitte has graduated "The Monty Roberts Preliminary Certificate of Horsemanship" from England.
I 2005 Gitte was educated Physical Massage Therapist and is currently studying for a "Equine Science" Bacherlor's Degree in England and is broadning her education as a Physical Massage Therapist.
Moreover Gitte once attended medical school and studied medical psychology. Later on she graduated the computer scientist education and has been working in a big IT company for the past 18 years, the final two as a Service Delivery Director. During her career as a computer scientist Gitte has attended courses within coaching, project management, analysis, management, etc.
In January 2006 Gitte quit her job in the IT business to dedicate herself to her business.
What are we doing?
The purpose of the company is to provide counselling and massage for horse and rider so that problems in movement caused by tensions and pain in the muscular system can be avoided.
Through massage tensions are loosened and thus horse and rider are helped finding their body balance. A 'normal' athlete cannot compete without massage or stretching. The horse is the biggest athlete in the world and therefore should be massaged regularly as prevention and not just when pain or injuries occur.
Moreover we emphasize guiding the rider and the owner of the horse so that injuries can be avoided and tensions prevented before problems in movement become a reality. Both MySir Equine Massage Therapy and MassageClinic cooperate with doctors, veterinarians and chiropractors, for animals as well as humans.
Three in one
"What we do - we do best"
Everything is connected - if you are not a practising therapist it is impossible to enrich the students with relevant experience. Humans as well as animals are individuals and must be treated that way. Our high educational level is achieved by us regularly retraining ourselves, practising therapy and cooperating with other therapists within the fields engaged so that the knowledge we pass on is broad and heightens the professional level we desire.
